What is the Prvate Security Authority?
The Private Security Authority (PSA) is the statutory body with responsibility for licensing and regulating the private security industry in Ireland. Private security contractors must be certified to the appropriate standrds and licenced by the PSA. Licensable sectors include:
- Static guarding (PSA28:2013)
- Door supervisors (PSA28:2013)
- Intruder alarm installers (EN50131, PSA74:2019)
- CCTV installers (PSA2006:2012, PSA74:2019)
- Access control installers (PSA67:2021, PSA74:2019)
- Locksmiths (PSA55:2016)
- Private investigators (PSA42:2015)
- Enforcement guards (PSA91:2023)
